“Arctic Chills” was created through a combination of expressive painting techniques, allowing movement, interaction and layered colour to build across the surface. Rather than working to a predetermined outcome, I allowed unexpected patterns, textures and fragments of colour to emerge through the process.
Rich turquoise, deep blue, Phthalo Blue, Payne’s Grey, gold, light blue and white create a cool, atmospheric palette, with layers of texture adding depth and movement. The result is an energetic abstract artwork with a sense of fluidity and changing light.
My process is intuitive and exploratory, with each layer responding to what came before it. Scraping, layering and working back into the surface allow unexpected marks and fragments of colour to remain visible, giving the painting its distinctive character.
Finished with professional-grade varnish for added protection and a beautiful smooth finish.
