Sunburnt Horizon I & II is a pair of original abstract paintings from my Ocean & Earth collection, inspired by the warmth, colour and changing surfaces of the Australian landscape.
Rich sienna, burnt umber and ochre tones move through softer layers of sand and warm cream, creating the feeling of a distant horizon beneath a sun-washed sky.
Built through layers of acrylic paint, each canvas has been scraped, pulled and reworked with a palette knife, revealing fragments of earlier colour and texture beneath the surface — traces of the painting's journey that give each work its own depth and character.
Created together, the two paintings share a continuous sense of movement while remaining individually unique. Displayed side by side, they form a warm, textural diptych that brings an earthy Australian palette into the home.
